Does it matter what brand pool chemicals you use?
Cheaper options might have only 40% or less available chlorine. The same is true of other active ingredients like Calcium Hypochlorite, too. The issue is that while the cheaper product may technically shock your pool, it could be doing it more effectively.
Let’s take a random brand such as oh, HTH, and look at their percentage of available chlorine in their 3” tabs, which only has 92.4% trichlor while our Caribbean Blue 3” tabs are 99% trichlor and is manufactured by Haviland, made locally in Walker, Michigan. By buying your pool chemicals from Huff Pool and Spa, you are supporting TWO LOCAL BUSINESSES not those faceless corporate businesses! By the way, some of the off brands won’t even put their percentage on the labels. We’ve looked! Why is that???
Let’s also take a look at all of the liquid chlorine that is sold by home construction stores, local hardware stores, grocery stores etc. Almost ALL of their liquid chlorine is only 10% while Huff Pool and Spa only sells 12.5%!!!
